Museum Tourism Destinations in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah –  Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) not only offers educational films at the Keong Mas Theater and replicas of traditional houses from all over Indonesia, but also has a very interesting museum collection. 1. Indonesian Museum
weaverhallmuseum – The Indonesian Museum is characterized by its charming Balinese architecture. As an anthropology and ethnology museum, this place highlights the arts and culture of the various ethnic groups in the archipelago. The exhibition space is divided into three floors: the first floor carries the theme ‘Bhineka Tunggal Ika’, showing the diversity of Indonesian culture; the second floor with the theme ‘Manuman dan Lingkungan’, exhibiting traditional and customary houses; and the third floor focuses on ‘Seni dan Kriya’, displaying a rich collection of traditional artworks.

2. Transportation Museum
This museum is managed by the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia and aims to collect, maintain, and exhibit the history and development of transportation in Indonesia. Here, you can explore various modes of transportation from traditional to modern, both land, sea, and air.

3. Oil and Gas Museum
Known as “Graha Widya Patra” or Gawitra, this museum was built to celebrate 100 years of the oil and gas industry in Indonesia. This museum provides insight into the process of mining and processing oil and gas resources, as well as displaying various relevant industrial tools.

4. Information Museum
Managed by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia, this museum houses collections related to the history of lighting and communication. You can learn about the development of information and communication technology, from the classical to the modern era here.

5. Indonesian Stamp Museum
As the name suggests, this museum exhibits a collection of stamps from various countries as well as their themes and history. At the Indonesian Stamp Museum, you will find interesting information about the stamp-making process, postal history, and important figures behind the world of stamps.

6. Science and Technology Demonstration Museum
Founded by Prof. Dr. B. J. Habibie, when he served as the Minister of Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, this museum has around 250 collections of educational and interactive technology demonstration tools. You can find various demonstration tools, such as flying bicycles, water rockets, and earthquake simulators. This museum also organizes student visit programs from elementary to high school.

7. Electricity and New Energy Museum

As one of the leading science museums in Indonesia, the Electricity and New Energy Museum is located in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. This museum offers an in-depth collection of electricity and renewable energy. There are around 619 demonstration tool collections on display, and interestingly, most of these tools are very interactive, allowing visitors to see and understand how energy and electricity work directly.

8. Sports Museum
With its unique shape resembling a ball, the Sports Museum in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah invites visitors to explore the world of sports, both in Indonesia and internationally. Here, you can learn about various types of sports, including traditional sports and traditional Indonesian games, as well as get to know famous figures in the world of sports who are immortalized in this museum, which was inaugurated on April 20, 1989.

9. Putra Bhakti Pertiwi Museum
Established by the Purna Bhakti Pertiwi Foundation on the initiative of Mrs. Tien Soeharto, the Purna Bhakti Pertiwi Museum houses a collection of objects and souvenirs related to the travels of the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soeharto. Inside this museum, you can find various art objects, gifts from various countries, as well as a collection of the KRI Harimau warship, which is an important part of Indonesian history.

10. Indonesian Military Museum
The Indonesian Military Museum, with its architecture resembling a pentagonal fort and surrounded by water, is designed to introduce the history of the nation’s struggle. Visitors can see collections that include fragments of hero statues from the 7th to 19th centuries, war dioramas, and traditional war clothes that depict the nation’s fighting spirit.

11. Pusaka Museum
At the Pusaka Museum, located in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, you can learn about various traditional weapons typical of Indonesia. Among the most popular collections are the Keris Nagasasra Sabuk Inten from the Mataram Kingdom era, the Kujang from the Padjajaran Kingdom, the Keris Singa Barong tinatah mas, the karih from Sumatra, the kudi from the Tuban Kingdom, and the keris Naga Tapa from Yogyakarta.

12. Telecommunication Museum
Located at the front of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, the Telecommunication Museum presents complete information about the development of telecommunications from time to time. Visitors can see traditional communication tools, such as kentongan and bedug, to important artifacts such as the morse telegraph, which is the forerunner of modern communication tools.

13. Bayt AL-Qur’an Museum and Istiqlal Museum
If you want to learn more about the ins and outs of the Qur’an and Islamic culture in Indonesia, the Bayt AL-Qur’an Museum and Istiqlal Museum are the right places to visit. The museum houses a collection of works by Muslim scholars and intellectuals from the archipelago from the 17th to the 20th centuries, as well as various cultural heritage artifacts including mushafs, Qur’an manuscripts, architecture, and Islamic works of art.

Asmat Museum
The Asmat Museum, built with architecture inspired by Rumah Kawari, the traditional house of the Tobati-Enggros tribe, is a cultural museum that houses a wealth of collections related to the culture, traditions, and people of the Asmat tribe. Here, visitors can see various artifacts, ranging from traditional jewelry and clothing, traditional weapons, musical instruments, to equipment and weapons typical of the Asmat people. East Timor Museum
Before being transformed into a museum, this location was the East Timor Regional Pavilion. With the unique traditional architecture of Timor ‘Los Palos’, this museum houses a cultural collection that reflects the life and heritage of East Timor. Inside, there are traditional clothing, traditional weapons, musical instruments, and handicrafts such as ceramics and woven fabrics typical of East Timor, providing deep insight into the culture of this region.

Indonesian Hakka Museum
The Indonesian Hakka Museum is located in TMII and serves as a source of education and information about the Indonesian Hakka people, who are an integral part of the history of the Chinese ethnic community in the archipelago. The museum consists of three main areas, namely the Indonesian Chinese Museum, the Indonesian Hakka Museum, and the Indonesian Yongding Hakka Museum, each presenting valuable information about the Hakka cultural heritage and history.

Insect Museum and Butterfly Park
As a country with extraordinary biodiversity, Indonesia has many species of flora and fauna, including insects and butterflies. The Insect Museum and Butterfly Park at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah provides visitors with the opportunity to get up close and personal with around 250 species of butterflies, 200 species of beetles, and 150 other species of insects. It is an ideal place to admire the beauty and diversity of the insect world.

Indonesian Komodo Fauna Museum and Reptile Park
With its renowned fauna diversity, a visit to the Indonesian Komodo Fauna Museum and Reptile Park will introduce you to a collection of animals originating from the archipelago. Here, you can see around 150 species of Indonesian animals that have been preserved and exhibited based on their distribution groups across the various islands of Indonesia.
